Pixels's economy has been going through constant rebalancing, so sudden game updates could change the infomation below. We will keep publishing updated information as much as possible.
Benefits of renting an NFT land
+10x Productive Area and Higher Tier Industries on NFT Lands
Lands have over 10x more productive area than specks, allowing for the placement of a higher quantity of industries, trees, and soil to be planted. This space is also a core benefit as it unlocks industries up to tier 4, while specks are limited to tier 2. This means you can significantly boost your production and resource management.
Taskboard Boost
According to other players' tests, lands seem to have moreย $PIXEL tasks on the taskboard. It's important to note that this is not a benefit that was confirmed by the game and it will likely change overtime. There is, however, some randomness to the taskboard logic. But in general, players with NFT lands seem to have more $PIXEL tasks than the ones without. To illustrate the benefits, below is a comparison reported on Twitter by a player, Avrenim.ย
This example shows a nearly 4x boost in $PIXEL tasks during the land rental, as well as +3X boost in $PIXEL earnings, while saving nearly 50% of the coins cost per $PIXEL:
Here are some more examples of users who have organically reported their $PIXEL earnings when using lands:
Higher tiers
The higher the tier of industries, soils, and trees, the higher the results collected on production. This makes renting or owning lands much more appealing for players since lands support tier 3 and 4 industries, unlike specks, which cap at tier 2.
For example, at forestry level 40, you can start using tier 3 trees and a tier 3 axe to collect wood.ย
Drop Rate Boost
Land traits now significantly affect resource drop rates. For example, if your land has a "dense trees" trait, you'll get more wood per tree cut than lands with "light" or "no tree" traits. This boost is especially noticeable at higher levels, like forestry level 40, where you can work on tier 3 trees and collect a lot more wood.
Leverage Enhanced Resources and Facilities from Lands
Lands come with better resources and facilities compared to specks. For instance, a land includes a tier 4 oven and a solarium where you can plant (the latter for large houses only).ย
Other Tips for Players on NFT Lands or Specks
Long-Term Growth for lower-tiered players
The more energy and coins you accumulate, the better you'll be able to invest in higher-tier soil, trees, and industries. Once you establish tier 3 and 4 resources, your earnings in $PIXEL and coins will skyrocket. So, if you're starting at tier 1, 2, or just reaching tier 3, focus on leveling up and accumulating energy and coins instead of short-term $PIXEL gains. You can earn much more $PIXEL when your resources are mostly at tier 3 or 4.
Energy Management for all players
To get the most bang for your buck on energy, here are some tips that are relevant at the moment, but could change as game updates are introduced:
One of the cheapest options available, Grumpkin Wine is the best energy source to be crafted, giving 3x more energy than Popberry Wine for just 0.03 more coins, and 216x more energy than Plain Omelet for only 10% more coins.
If you're willing to spend a bit more, Butterbrew offers 1.58x more energy than Grumpkin Wine for only 2% more coins.
These costs are based on purchasing ingredients at the market to make Grumpkin Wine or Butterbrew, but crafting all ingredients from scratch may reduce their energy costs by 2-3x! You invest a little more time and save a lot more energy. Thanks John from Pixels Mania for the tip!
For passive energy, hit the Sauna every day. Spending up to an hour daily can net you 240 energy units (400 if you're VIP) while you're chilling in the pool.
For lower-tiered players: Start with Mining and Forestry
If you're working with low-tier resources, mining is currently one of the most rewarding industries, giving you about 22 coins per energy spent. Forestry isn't far behind, offering around 18 coins per energy spent. Both of these are great for quickly accumulating the resources you need to level up.
For all players: Follow the Taskboard Updates
Every week the taskboard may offer a higher amount of tasks or earnings for one particular industry, which this week happens to be cooking recipes. So make sure you are always adapting your strategies to focus on the tasks that have higher liquidity based on taskboard updates. Thanks John from Pixels Mania for the tip!
Opening Up Your Land
Once you've got tier 3 and 4 trees, soil, and industries, consider opening your land to other players. Thanks to the Quonset Hut, you'll earn 1% of everything they harvest, providing you with an additional income stream and maximizing your land's utility.
IMPORTANT CHANGES TO NOTE
Take Care of Your Trees!
Some players worry about the potential theft of trees, which are now common items like coins or axes. Trees aren't tied to specific accounts or lands, meaning anyone can take them if they claim the land. However, industries remain linked to specific game accounts, providing some security for these valuable assets.
What is the Main Message Here?
In Chapter 1, land renters looked for lands with complete resources, including dense trees. Now, in Chapter 2, players should focus on land size (larger lands are better) to maximize the amount of soil and resources they can fit on the land. Landowners listing their lands on platforms like LootRush should remove their trees before listing, and renters must bring their own trees and manage them like any other inventory item.
Conclusion
The changes introduced in Chapter 2 of Pixels have reshaped the gameplay dynamics, making lands a highly advantageous option for players looking to advance their skills and maximize their performance. With more $PIXEL tasks on the taskboard, larger areas, higher-tier capabilities, better resource management, and enhanced facilities, renting lands offers significant benefits that are hard to ignore. For players ready to move beyond tier 2 and manage their resources efficiently, renting lands is a clear path to greater performance in Pixels.
